Hamilton Schades Labels – Coalville, Leicestershire

A busy industrial printing facility faced significant challenges maintaining a comfortable and safe working environment during the summer months. Internal temperatures previously reached nearly 40°C, impacting staff wellbeing and production efficiency. Our team designed, supplied, and installed a tailored cooling solution to stabilise temperatures, enhance airflow, and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Challenge
Excessive heat in industrial and commercial environments can reduce productivity and increase the risk of accidents. At 24°C, productivity can drop by 10%, and above this, accident likelihood rises by 23%. The facility needed a reliable cooling and ventilation solution to protect staff, maintain operational efficiency, and safeguard sensitive printing processes during extreme heat conditions.

Solution
We applied our proven three-step process to deliver a comprehensive, efficient, and compliant system:

  1. Consultation & Assessment: The client reached out via our contact form to discuss their needs. We conducted an on-site assessment, measuring airflow, temperature, and heat gain, and evaluated any fume risks.

  2. Proposal: Based on our findings, we provided a clear, cost-effective proposal tailored to the facility, ensuring regulatory compliance and energy efficiency.

  3. Installation & Commissioning: Our certified engineers installed 5 roof extractor units and 6 Breezair evaporative coolers, designed to deliver balanced airflow, extract excess heat, and maintain fresh air quality. Systems were carefully integrated with the building to minimise disruption, and fully tested to guarantee optimal performance.

Result
Following the installation, internal temperatures stabilised around 25°C even during summer heat waves, improving staff comfort and ensuring production continued uninterrupted. The combination of extractors and evaporative coolers provided an energy-efficient, reliable, and compliant solution tailored to the facility’s industrial requirements.
